Castle on the Hill
High above the River Fiddich, within the Speyside region of north-east Scotland, stands the impressive 550 year old ruin of Auchindoun Castle. It is one of Scotland's few remaining iconic hilltop fortresses and, in a landscape with almost constantly changing weather and light, this is a place that rarely fails to impress.
Two high quality apartments are available for visitors to stay in this romantic location. The 'Castle Byre' and 'Castle Bothy' are self contained units created out of the former barns of historic Parkhead Farm, and they sit just 200m from the castle. Each has a different character, but the high level of comfort offered in both is the same, as are the unsurpassed view of the castle on the hill.
With well appointed kitchens, bathrooms and open plan living and dining areas, each property has car parking close to its entrance and its own private wildflower garden area facing the castle.
From £110 per night for the Bothy, and £140 for the Byre (minimum stay 3 nights).
