One of the best ways to discover more about single malt Scotch whiskies is to come to one of the two whisky festivals held each year in and around Dufftown.

Throughout the festival several distilleries that are not normally open to the public invite whisky enthusiasts to tour their facilities and sample their products.

Mini bus trips are laid on that enable connoisseurs of whisky to tour and taste an incredible array of fine malts from a wide range of distilleries. The most infamous of these is the marathon "Seven Stills Tour" that visits all of Dufftown's distilleries on a single trip with a dram at each and every one. Definitely not for the faint hearted!

The Festival's Whisky Fair boasts a feast of exhibits from distillers, independent bottlers, liqueur makers and other related companies. Here visitors have an unrivalled opportunity to sample and buy a huge range of malts under one roof.

Explore the pairing of whisky with foods such as salmon, cheese, or chocolate under the guidance of well known whisky experts.

Dine in restaurants whose special festival menus complement a mouth watering choice of the finest local Scottish produce with Speyside malt whiskies.

But there is much more - music, dancing, exhibitions, pipe bands and food and craft fairs. The best of Scotland's culture is on show alongside the celebration of its national drink. During the festival visitors can even take advantage of guided walks or off road land rover safaris in the stunning surroundings of Speyside and the Cairngorms National Park.

And finally the famous Dregs Party brings the festival to a close. As the last drops are drained from leftover bottles it is time to say goodbye to old friends until the next festival. We hope to see you there!
